Who is Zhanna Zeleke, could you please introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Zhanna. I am a Yoga and a Pilates teacher and the owner of Lakeshore Yoga Studio. I have been practicing and teaching Yoga and Pilates since 2005. I started my career in health and wellness in Russia. I moved to Canada in 2009 and continue to do what I love.
What is your business and when did you start?
I moved to Oakville in 2014 and taught in different yoga studios until I opened my own yoga studio Lakeshore Yoga in 2018. During the pandemic Lakeshore Yoga became an online studio. I teach my students on Zoom.
What inspired you to start your business?
I wanted to share with people the benefits of Yoga and Pilates for the body and mind, and help them simply feel better physically and mentally.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
My biggest challenge has been to learn how to be a business woman and not only a yoga teacher. I am very grateful to have had a wonderful support of people who guided and supported me.
What motivates you about your business?
Meeting new students and helping them in their practice, seeing how their bodies change and heal, hearing the personal experiences in Yoga and Pilates that my students share with me are my motivations.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Don’t be afraid to start what you love to do even if you don’t know everything, you will learn as you go. People around you will help and guide you.
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
I love dancing, fashion, and classic movies.
The best business advice I ever received was…
My dance teacher gave me some nice advice. “Zhanna, write down what you want to achieve, your plans, dreams. “
So I did and still do.
My definition of success is…
