Who is Shahenaz Mohamed, could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Shahenaz Mohamed. I travelled and lived in different countries. I enjoy my life exploring new places and cultures which offer me different perspectives and opportunities in my life. Starting from Egypt to Saudi Arabia, then from Dallas-Texas to my last destination Canada..I love simplicity and believe that your beauty comes from inside and never needs a makeup.
What is your business and when did you start?
Damas Skincare was established on March 2019 as a med spa located in Mississauga. My team is specialized in laser hair removal and facial treatments.
What inspired you to start your business?
Being experienced in the medical field for nearly two decades was my inspiration to establish my own business after moving to Canada.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
There are many aesthetic and medical spas these days and the competition is tough. We focus on quality and affordability. We work with transparency and use high technology while focusing on the client satisfaction on a continuous basis. By keeping the consistent high quality and our faith, we believe we will succeed.
What motivates you about your business?
My main motivation was to establish my own business in Canada after having worked many years in a multinational company in the Middle East. I am so glad, I did!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Listen to your heart, believe in yourself and improve your skills. Create your own business model and do not compare yourself with others. Work with a team and appreciate their goodness. Focus, Focus, Focus!
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
There are many! The one I can share is that I was planning to have a business as an immigration consultant. I even completed the first step and received a Diploma as an immigration practitioner. Life is full of surprises!!!
