Who is Rita Belavich, could you please introduce yourself?
I am a Home Finance Advisor at Scotiabank and I help people with mobile mortgage advice from the comfort of their own home. Homeowners gained significant equity in their homes over the past year thanks to many regions experiencing record housing prices and supply shortages. With reported record consumer savings and more people switching to permanent work-from-home opportunities, upgrading their home living and workspaces are also top of mind for many.
I support people with their financing or refinancing needs.
What is your business and when did you start?
I have over 20 years of business experience and contacts in real estate, home construction, property investments and design. I joined mobile mortgage financing business in the summer of 2019 which was a natural progression in my career, making me a one-stop-shop for all things HOME!
What inspired you to start your business?
With a strong passion for real estate, design, and a sincere desire to help people, I am able to combine personal interests with my entrepreneurial spirit with this new venture.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
With a switch in career paths during a global pandemic, social distancing, and learning curve ahead of me, many challenges face me in developing ideas I had initially to take my business where I’d like it to be. But with time, perseverance and support from community, I’m confident this new year will bring great opportunities.
What motivates you about your business?
My continued love for life-long learning, working to help and share with others, and general passion for all things home, I hope to be able to support families in their long-term financial gains through real estate!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Reach out to others who are successful in the field you’re embarking on, and learn what not to do, where to focus your efforts on!
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
Growing up with a home contractor dad, professionally working as a design consultant and manager of marketing communications, I’ve personally been involved in the housing and real estate my entire life.
The best business advice I ever received was…
Jack Canfield talks about success clues in his Success Principles book and at his training workshops, “When you take advantage of information, you’ll discover that life is simply a connect-the-dots game, and all the dots have already been identified and organized by somebody else. All you have to do is follow the blueprint, use the system, or work the program that they provide.”
My definition of success is…
Do what you know you love, do your best, authentically, and positive results will find you.
If I could go back in time when I started my business, I would tell myself to…
listen to your intuition. Do it now!
Three books I recommend for entrepreneurs are…
The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain
My personal tagline is…
