Who is Nicky Correa, could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Nicky Correa, CEO of CorrWealth Management Inc. I support women who are going through separation and divorce. We take a holistic approach to supporting them during this transition with the help of an incredible team of law, real estate, and mental health professionals. Despite their challenges we aim to educate women on how they can become the CEOs of their own lives and defining what success means to them.
What is your business and when did you start?
Wealth Management – Insurance and Investment (2020)
What inspired you to start your business?
My mum stayed in a toxic marriage for 33 years because she had no idea how to leave and when she did leave, she had no idea what to do next. Supporting her made me realize the areas in our system that need improvement the most. We work so hard on getting ourselves in knot we have no idea how to untie.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
There is a difference between being self-critical and constructive. I read a book a week. I was committed to my personal growth as much as my professional growth.
What motivates you about your business?
I love helping women believe in the possibilities and teaching them how to create structures for success.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Be patient because the recipe for success is time, diligence, resilience, and strategy.
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
I bring my pup to the office if I’m about to deliver some bad news to a client and that often does the trick of lightening up a really awful conversation!
The best business advice I ever received was…
that I needed to value my time more and pick and choose clients that aligned with my values.
My definition of success is…
the ability to find true happiness at every financial stage.
If I could go back in time when I started my business, I would tell myself to…
draw boundaries between personal and business life.
Three books I recommend for entrepreneurs are…
Start with Why by Simon Sinek
Atomic Habits by James Clear
Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss
My personal tagline is…
Reprogram your Subconscious Mind and BE EXCELLENT!
