Who is Megan Arthurs, could you please introduce yourself?
Hello! My name is Megan Arthurs and I am a professional home organizer in Oakville.
What is your business and when did you start?
H:OM ORGANIZING is an in-home and virtual decluttering and organizing service. We implement functional and aesthetically pleasing storage solutions, creating space and purpose to every room in the home. We believe living in a clutter-free space will bring peace and clarity to other aspects of life outside of the home. H:OM ORGANIZING was launched in June 2019.
What inspired you to start your business?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been passionate about organizing. After personal realizations on how the environment you live in reflects your inner spiritual space, I decided to turn my OCD ‘quirk’ with organizing into a business.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
The most challenging part in the initial stages was trust. Trusting myself and the path I was taking. Surrendering to the present moment and not holding particular expectations on how things would unfold definitely helped me overcome this challenge.
What motivates you about your business?
My clients motivate me – I know when I am finished in a home, I have not only transformed the space but I have also transformed the people in the home. When I set up someones environment so it supports their own personal success and goals, it truly warms my heart and motivates me to keep helping.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Be patient. The day you plant the seed is not the day you pick the fruit. It takes time and patience for your new business to take off – stay in your own lane and keep at it.
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
I am a former dance teacher, with a Master of Arts Degree in Dance.

If I could go back in time when I started my business, I would tell myself…
