Who is Lina Khassawneh, could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Lina I am a mom of three beautiful boys. Working a full time job with three children could be mission impossible, so I have created my own business after I came to Canada. Running my own business from home gives me the opportunity to support my family as well as look after my children.
What is your business and when did you start?
Velvetbay is an online boutique which features trending clothes in affordable prices for women in all ages. I started my business in March 2020, right when the pandemic started!
What inspired you to start your business?
My business reflects my passion to be unique and different.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
Fashion is one of the areas that was negatively affected by the pandemic. During the pandemic, the networking activities shifted online. I have joined Mom2Mom Biz Network to increase my business visibility, word of mouth referrals and to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs.
What motivates you about your business?
I am motivated by new styles and designs of clothes which are launched everyday and to be able to make each woman feel happy and confident about their style.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Consistency is the key to success. Do not be affected by negativity.

I am a Lawyer and an Early Childhood Educator as well.
