
Who is Kate Morrison, could you please introduce yourself?
Hello my name is Kate Morrison – I am a wife, a mother to two young daughters and a physiotherapist. I value hard work, family and honesty. I grew up in the small town of Parry Sound, Ontario and have recently moved back to Ontario after having spent the past 5 years living in Vancouver.
What is your business and when did you start?
I opened Oakville Kids Physio – a private pediatric physiotherapy clinic just for KIDS in November – 2022.
What inspired you to start your business?
I have always wanted to start my own business, growing up with the entrepreneurial influence from my father, I was motivated to someday open a business of my own.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
The challenge in the initial stage of opening Oakville Kids Physio was learning how to navigate the ever changing work life balance.
What motivates you about your business?
I love love love kids – It is an absolute privilege to be able to provide a much needed service within the community to support our kids in achieving their maximum physical potential! Watching kids working hard and achieving their goals is my why! My own daughters motivate me to model hard work and show up to be the best version of myself everyday.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Take a leap – you got this!
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
After graduating from University I worked in banking as an account manager while I figured out exactly where my passion was. I love any way of being active – running, yoga, tennis!
The best business advice I ever received was…
Don’t try and do everything – focus on what you enjoy and what lights you up and then build your team!
My definition of success is…
Working hard, never giving up and finding the balance in between.
