Who is Karina Budhrani, could you please introduce yourself?

My name is Karina, and I am passionate about helping women. I strongly believe in empowering women to embrace their true potential and lead fulfilling lives. Through “I’m hair for you always,” I aim to support women in various aspects, including boosting their confidence and providing guidance on hair care. It brings me joy to be a part of their journey towards self-discovery and self-care.

What is your business and when did you start?

My business is called “I’m Hair For You Always.” We specialize in offering high-quality hair growth oil and accessories to women. Our official launch took place in May 2023, following two years of dedicated effort to perfect our signature oil formula called “Rosemary and Amla Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil.” Throughout this period, our focus was on creating a product that effectively promotes healthy hair growth and provides nourishment to the scalp and hair strands.

What inspired you to start your business?

I was inspired to start my business in 2020 due to a combination of factors. Firstly, I was personally going through a challenging time dealing with the stress of the pandemic, going through a divorce, and experiencing postpartum depression. During this period, I noticed my hair becoming thin and experiencing significant hair loss, which was later diagnosed as telogen effluvium. As I sought solutions for my hair concerns, I encountered numerous recommendations for expensive and invasive products that didn’t align with my preference for natural remedies. Motivated by this, I embarked on extensive research and discovered the benefits of natural hair oils. This newfound knowledge and personal experience led me to create my own brand, “I’m Hair For You Always,” with the aim of providing women with high-quality, natural hair growth solutions.

What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?

During the initial stages of my business, I faced several challenges that required overcoming. As a single mother with children, I had limited resources and was unsure of where and how to begin. However, I was determined to pursue my dreams. To address these challenges, I took proactive steps to acquire new skills and knowledge. In 2021, I decided to go back to school to study digital marketing, which provided me with valuable insights into promoting my business effectively. Additionally, I focused on personal healing, which helped me build resilience and confidence. I devoted considerable time to conducting thorough research, familiarizing myself with the hair care industry, and identifying the needs and preferences of my target audience. By empowering myself with knowledge and leveraging my newfound skills, I gradually navigated the challenges and worked towards turning my dreams into a reality.

What motivates you about your business?

What motivates me about my business is the personal experience and frustration I went through. I was deeply disappointed with people who claimed to help with my hair loss but only cared about taking my money without providing genuine support. This drove me to ensure that no other woman has to endure exorbitant expenses and deceptive practices. I am passionate about showing genuine care and empathy towards women facing hair loss. It’s essential to me that they feel supported and understood. Additionally, my own personal struggle and the determination I had to overcome it serve as a constant reminder of the importance of perseverance and resilience. Through my business, I aim to inspire and uplift others who may be going through similar challenges, letting them know that they are not alone and that there is someone who genuinely cares for them.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?

The advice I would give to other entrepreneurs is to never give up and believe in yourself. It’s crucial to empower yourself through education and continuous learning. Take advantage of courses, workshops, and networking events to expand your knowledge and connections. Stay committed to your goals and keep pushing forward, even in the face of challenges and setbacks. Perseverance and determination are key qualities for success in entrepreneurship. Remember that success may not come overnight, so remain focused and dedicated to your vision. Additionally, surround yourself with a supportive network of like-minded individuals who can provide guidance and motivation along your entrepreneurial journey. Collaborating with others and seeking mentorship can be invaluable for growth and development. Ultimately, trust in your abilities, stay resilient, and never stop striving until you have achieved your goals.

Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?

An interesting fact that most people do not know about me is that I used to be an international bellydance artist, teaching workshops throughout Asia. However, a lesser-known aspect is that I harbored a long-time dream of opening my own dance studio. The passion for dance and the desire to create a nurturing space for dancers to explore their artistry have been integral parts of my aspirations and journey.

The best business advice I ever received was to maintain a positive connection with other women-owned businesses. Their support, encouragement, and belief in my potential to succeed were invaluable. Building a network of like-minded entrepreneurs who uplift and empower each other has been instrumental in my own journey.
