Who is Jyoti Shamnani, could you please introduce yourself?
I am a homemaker and a realtor by profession. Mother of 3 beautiful daughters. Fortunate to have an amazing husband. When they say behind every successful man there’s a woman probably they didn’t think women will be successful too. So today I say behind every successful person there’s a driving force and my family is playing an extraordinary part. Canada is the 6th country where I’ve had a chance to live and work! I have enjoyed the cultures, food and the seasons of these countries. Adaptability has become my second nature and I love to share my experiences. I want to educate people with my journey and the process of moving and settling into new environments which brings me to my present work.
What is your business and when did you start?
Understanding the value of your home is a crucial step in determining if it is the right time to sell your home. I provide detailed, comprehensive, free home evaluations. These complimentary evaluations can help you determine how much equity you have in your home, the appreciation trends in your neighbourhood and other important statistics. I believe even if you are not considering selling your home today, an annual market evaluation is an important undertaking in understanding your most significant financial asset. I do not sell, trade, transfer, rent or exchange your personal information with anyone. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
What inspired you to start your business?
People usually ask me why Real Estate and I tell them I AM my WHY. I love to challenge myself constantly, adapting constantly and I love it when I achieve success and I move onto next challenge. I have been able to relocate successfully throughout my life and therefore I call myself relocation concierge. This challenge is interesting as everyday I get to meet or speak with new individuals and the urge to help them solves my purpose of life and my WHY.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
I see them as stepping stones towards my success and not challenges. Overcoming them was living by the day and I am grateful for this day.
What motivates you about your business?
1. Being me – for the families who need me. I like to educate my clients or customers – the knowledge leads them to work with me,
2. Experiences from people around me,
3. Knowledge that I gain every single day.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Patience, Perseverance, Consistence & Gratitude; although are heavy words but implement these and they are your pillars to a successful endeavour.
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
Lets have a coffee date and find out!
The best business advice I ever received was…
Be you and the rest will follow…
My definition of success is…
“Karmanye Vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadhachana.” That phrase derives from The Bhagavad Gita. The direct translation is: “Perform your duty but do not have any expectation of the fruits”. For me, it speaks of being dedicated to your job, your art, your science for its own sake.
If I could go back in time when I started my business, I would tell myself to…
Be the same – people come to you for you. Love yourself then only you can love others.
The books I recommend for entrepreneurs are…
Your Own Life is a book to learn from.
My personal tagline is…
My Approach; As Unique As You
