Who is Jaswinder Lamba, could you please introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Jas and I have been practicing as a physiotherapist since 2001. I have two beautiful children and love being a mom and running two successful practices.
What is your business and when did you start?
My business is running a multidisciplinary physiotherapy clinic where we try to provide all different services under one roof. My team consists of massage therapists, chiropractors, chiropodists and occupational therapist. I opened my first clinic in South Etobicoke in 2016 and opened my second location in North Oakville in 2019.
What inspired you to start your business?
I wanted to have a better work and life balance and I realized I could achieve that by opening my own clinic. I also realized that with our busy lives people don’t want to drive all over the place to get services they need so I was inspired to put the core services and niche practices under one roof.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
The challenges that I initially encountered were to market the clinic and getting past the front desk to meet doctors. I overcame them by joining social network groups and providing excellent customer experience so more clients came by word of mouth. I also made meditation and intention setting as a daily practice and loved how mindfulness can lead to success with ease.
What motivates you about your business?
Meeting new people and listening to their unique stories motivates me every day. Assessing and delivering treatments that can change peoples lives and indulging in the satisfaction from good work motivates me to continue to thrive.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Get comfortable with fear and change as it indicates that you are evolving and that things are always working out. Also, carve out time to work on the business and make time to take care of yourself.
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
I spend 30 minutes every morning with daily meditation and visualize how I want my day to go.
