Who is Cecilia Toyotoshi, could you please introduce yourself?
Cecilia Toyotoshi is a eager-to-learn soul, caring mother of two, loving spouse of almost 25 years of marriage, fun-to-be-around friend and a woman who is not afraid to step up and create the life she desires. She has a big zest for life and a great appreciation of the gift of being alive and is determined to experience it at its fullest.
What is your business and when did you start?
My business is focused on coaching the Whole Life of each client, focusing on relationships, career, work-life, health, spirituality and activities that fill our heart and soul. I started this profession in 2013 during a CTI (Co-Active Training Institute) Coaching Training and by creating a safe space for women to share their stories, called Life Chats.
What inspired you to start your business?
As a mother, spouse and friend, I didn’t have the tools or enough knowledge to support my life and the life of others around me, so I felt the need to work on myself to learn and experience the life lessons and roadblocks. I attended workshops and courses, immersed myself in leadership and personal growth retreats, received training in various coaching modalities and hired coaches to help me learn and change certain aspects of myself to allow me to grow.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
Most of the challenges I faced were self-imposed. My perfectionist nature was my self-sabotage, which I learned to let go of. I learned to become comfortable with my mistakes. I see the roadblocks as new adventures to be explored and my clients feel at ease and supported with this approach.
What motivates you about your business?
Being with others and listening to their stories inspires me to be better, to be bold and to create the life we wish to create.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Don’t be afraid to take the leap and try, always aspire to be more. If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing!
Interesting fact most of the people do not know about you?
I am a third generation Japanese born in Peru. So I see myself as having an ancient oriental wisdom and a passionate Latin heart. I love to dance and any outdoor activities you’d like to try, I am in!
The best business advice I ever received was…

My definition of success is…

If I could go back in time when I started my business, I would tell myself to…
keep doing this work! The world needs it!
