Who is Anki Khanna, could you please introduce yourself?
Hi! I am Anki from New Delhi, India. I relocated to Toronto 6 years ago. I live in Mississauga with my husband and two beautiful children. I am a certified food handler and have a seperate kitchen for my catering business. I also teach gentle hatha yoga and meditations under the brand name; Yoga Rootstorise.
What is your business and when did you start?
I have a home based kitchen that I started a year ago and I am doing catering for corporates and non-corporates, individual orders, events (birthdays/anniversaries/get togethers etc) . I also provide private chef services as well.
What inspired you to start your business?
In this chaotic lifestyle, to serve healthy, nutritious and fresh food in my community.
What were the challenges in the initial stages of your business and how did you overcome them?
The food industry is vast; during the initial stages my challenges were to present my food for tasting as well as applying the right price. I remember orders being cancelled for the difference of $1! With perseverence, I built my business by sharing free samples and built my loyal clientele.
What motivates you about your business?
My love and passion of cooking motivates me to serve tasty and healthy food to my customers.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Become great leaders and example for the society.
